Chapter I · The Road · About us

Someone is waiting on a porch.

A senior. A veteran. An appointment that matters. The phone rings—and a knight answers. Not with paperwork. With a door that opens, a seat that is ready, and a promise: you will not go alone.

This is not a brochure. It is a calling.

Knights of Care exists for a simple reason: love should move. Across San Joaquin County, we take seniors and veterans where independence lives: the doctor, the pharmacy, the grocery store, the senior center, and the other everyday places that keep a life upright.

Through the generosity of Fresh Start Charities, the Knights of Care Odyssey became our first dedicated vehicle—fully dressed, actively serving, a visible sign that compassion has wheels.

Our #1 goal · a wheelchair-accessible van

Help us say YES.

Our Honda Odyssey can’t carry a rider who has to stay in their wheelchair. We’re raising $15,000 for a wheelchair-accessible van and everything it takes to put it on the road, so we can say yes to those neighbors, too.

$1,000 raised of $15,000as of Oct 3, 2026

Counts gifts for the van made online and by mail.

Why it matters

Right now, when a neighbor who uses a wheelchair calls for a ride, we can’t carry them yet. A second van, built to carry riders in wheelchairs and seated riders alike, makes us more accessible, puts two Knights of Care vans on the road, and doubles our reservations, so we can finally say yes.

Why we ride

“Then he set him on his own animal and brought him to an inn and took care of him.”

Luke 10:34 (ESV)

Three truths we carry with us.

Love God. Love your neighbor.

Faith is not a slogan on our door. It is the reason the door opens. Every conversation in the Odyssey is an act of worship—dignity restored, one mile at a time.

“People like hot fries.”

Love should never grow cold. A medical appointment matters, so we plan each ride ahead and show up ready—warmth from pickup to the porch light at home.

Delivering care

We are on the road today for elderly and veteran neighbors. Tomorrow the same calling stretches farther—because more neighbors are still waiting for a seat.

“One vehicle changes lives. A fleet changes communities.”
